Who handles your information

Information you provide
When you contact us by telephone, email or WhatsApp, we may receive your name, telephone number, email address, postcode, job details and information you choose to send, including photos. A property address may be needed to quote for or carry out work. Please share only information needed for the enquiry and avoid including people, documents or sensitive details in photos unless necessary.
Why we use information
We use this information to respond, discuss quotations, arrange visits agreed with you and manage work you request. The relevant legal basis is taking steps at your request before a contract, performing a contract, or our legitimate interest in answering business enquiries and managing related correspondence. Where records are required by law, processing is based on that legal obligation. Handling complaints and establishing, exercising or defending legal claims is based on our legitimate interest in resolving disputes and protecting legal rights. An enquiry does not confirm an appointment; dates and times must be agreed directly.
Website hosting and security
This is a static website provided through Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process technical information, including IP addresses, request details and security information, to deliver and protect the website. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for information about its processing.
The online enquiry form is disabled. It cannot send or store your details. There is no online photo-upload service, customer account, online booking, Google Calendar connection or automated customer notification service on this version of the website.
Telephone, Gmail and WhatsApp
Telephone links open your calling application. Email links open your email application; you must send the message to contact us. Our published Gmail mailbox is provided by Google. Telephone and email providers process communications through their own services. See Google’s privacy policy.
The WhatsApp link opens WhatsApp or its web service. WhatsApp processes account, communication and technical information under its own terms and privacy information. See WhatsApp’s privacy policy. Use WhatsApp for non-urgent enquiries. For urgent electrical problems, please call 07746 552278.
Photos sent by email or WhatsApp are handled through those services. They do not pass through a website image-processing service; this website does not remove their location or other embedded metadata. Check photos before sending them.
Cookies and similar technologies
This website does not use advertising trackers or an analytics integration. The static website application does not set cookies or store enquiry details in your browser. Hosting security services may use technologies necessary to deliver or protect the website. Google and WhatsApp have their own practices when you use their services; their privacy notices explain these separately.
Access and recipients
Within Sparkswood, only the owner has access to the business Gmail and WhatsApp accounts. This does not prevent the relevant providers from processing information as described in their privacy notices.
Sharing and international processing
Cloudflare, Google, WhatsApp and communication providers process information needed to provide their services. Information may also need to be disclosed to meet legal obligations. These providers operate internationally, so processing can take place outside the UK. Their privacy notices describe their processing locations and applicable transfer arrangements. Contact us for information about the arrangements relevant to your enquiry. We do not publish customer contact details, property addresses or enquiry photos on this website.
How long information is kept
- Enquiries that do not lead to work: no longer than 12 months.
- Correspondence about completed work: up to 6 years where needed for job documentation, accounts or legal claims.
- Accounting documents: for the period required by applicable law.
Information may be deleted sooner when it is no longer needed. These limits apply to records held by Sparkswood; provider-held technical and service data is subject to the relevant provider’s retention arrangements. Contact us about a particular record or to request deletion. The right to deletion is subject to applicable legal obligations and exceptions.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction or deletion, restrict processing, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or request portability.
